An Important Update About AGCI’s Intercountry Adoption Program
Dear AGCI Family,
After 34 years of serving children and families through intercountry adoption, All God’s Children International (AGCI) has made the prayerful decision to close our intercountry adoption program.
Over the past three decades we have walked alongside thousands of families and children in the adoption journey—witnessing firsthand the hope, loss, joy, hardship, and unconditional love that can be present in the sacred space of family. It has been an honor to see God’s hand at work in every adoption story we’ve been a part of. We grieve the closing of this chapter, and we are profoundly grateful to the families, partners, and supporters who have walked this journey with us.
Intercountry adoption has forever shaped AGCI and each of us personally. In fact, AGCI was born out of my own family’s journey to bring my sister Hannah out of the conflict-ridden terrains of Romania and into the arms of a loving family. What began as a mission to change one child’s story has grown into AGCI today: a global organization reaching more than 123,000 vulnerable children each year. It’s a future we never could have imagined, but one I know has been guided by God’s hand every step of the way.
We continue to hold the core belief that every child deserves to grow up in a safe, loving, and permanent family, and we remain strong advocates for intercountry adoption when no other path to family exists. To that end, we look forward to ongoing collaboration with reputable adoption service providers who will carry this work forward with excellence. In the years ahead, we will continue to be strong advocates for children without a pathway to family by furthering adoption policy reform, intercountry adoption advocacy, and capacity building for domestic adoption in the countries where AGCI serves.
Amidst these changes, God’s calling remains the same—one of restoration and reconciliation. Around the world, the needs of vulnerable children are shifting. Today, we are seeing greater opportunity, and calling, to intervene earlier in a child’s story by working to prevent separation and reunify children with their biological families whenever safely possible.
This work is already taking place and impacting thousands of children around the world through our child advocacy centers led by local AGCI staff. By disrupting the cycles of abuse, neglect, trafficking, exploitation, and poverty that so often tear families apart, our teams are helping children, families, communities, and systems heal and flourish from within. This growing impact is not a shift away from who we are, but a natural extension of our long-standing commitment to unlock family for every child.
To the thousands of families who have adopted through AGCI, thank you. Your family’s story is a powerful testimony to the hope that adoption brings, and we’re so grateful to have been a part of it with you.
To our partners and supporters—thank you for faithfully standing with us. As we enter this new season, we do so with courage and hope, trusting that “He who began a good work…will carry it on to completion” (Philippians 1:6). We believe God is moving in the lives of children and families around the world, and we remain committed to joining Him in this work of restoration, one story at a time.
Blessings,
Hollen Frazier, President
